What is a Virtual Open House?
Virtual Open Houses are interactive sessions scheduled and conducted using Web conferencing software. This software enables participants to see the host/speaker, to see other participants with webcams, to view the computer screen that includes Powerpoint documents, web sites and other resources, as well as type in questions using a chatroom feature. In addition, participants call into a toll-free phone number, and are able to speak to the internship director, current interns, and other participants.
If you are interested in joining an event, you must send an email to Phyllis McShane (pmcshane@umd.edu) to register. Currently we are able to accomodate 55 participants.
